4-H is a National service learning club aimed at producing caring, productive future members of American society. Students are involved in a plethora of activities throughout the year aimed learning and having fun through service of their community and world.
We participate in many activities throughout the school year that support our service learning philosophy. Activities such as:
DeFeet Cancer fundraiser for Relay for Life
Shirts For Soliders
Can Food Drive in support of National Hunger Awareness Week
The Vernon Parish Forestry Festival
There is open enrollment at the beginning of the year offered to all 5th and 6th grade students. Students enrolling in our school after this date are offered the opportunity to join whenever they show interest.
Meetings at Pickering Elementary for 4-H are held once a month on the designated Club Day.
4-H is open to donations to be used to fund the various activities we participate in throughout the year. As a club we do various fundraisers that are donated to groups such as American Cancer Society, Ronald McDonald House, Relay for Life, Etc. We do one-two paid blue jeans day throughout the school year to gain funds for our club.
